Is your lift too old? There are many improvements that FAIN can make to your machines to guarantee their correct operation, extend their useful life and avoid problems in the Mandatory Periodic Inspections (IPOs). That is why FAIN IRELAND is here to help you with your lift’s modernisation !
Do you have a young machine, but an Authorised Control Body (ACO) has found defects in one of its inspections? This is logical, as regulations change and your lift has to constantly adapt to them.
The solution, in both cases, is to modernise. Through certain modernisations, you can make your lift look as good as new, while avoiding the expense of a total replacement.
Benefits of timely lift modernisation
Reduce consumption
Did you know that, along with the boiler, the lift is one of the most energy-intensive elements in your building? A timely modernisation helps you to have a more sustainable machine, achieving a lower carbon footprint and, above all, a saving month by month on the community’s electricity bill.
Reduce sound
Do you hear the lift from your bedroom? We help you to put an end to annoying sounds so that you gain quality of life and do not give up your rest.
Improve security
Regardless of its age, it is possible to incorporate into your machine the security measures that are appearing on the market.
Improve the appearance
Lifts are the best letter of introduction to any building, as they give us an idea of the value, degree of professionalism, state of conservation and style of the property. If aesthetics is one of the weak points of yours, what are you waiting for to give your lift a facelift?
Improves travel comfort
Avoid vibrations, sudden stops and ride smoothly!
It allows full accessibility to meet the special needs of all population groups.
It allows you to adapt to the regulations in force. In this regard, we would like to remind you that failure to adapt lifts to the regulations in force entails different types of penalties.
Major lift modernisations
There are so many possibilities! Some of the most common are:
- Install a permanent magnet gearless machine and/or a frequency converter to reduce consumption to a minimum.
- Replace manual doors with automatic ones, and install infrared barriers to prevent doors from closing unexpectedly.
- Replace the cabin lights with energy-saving LEDs and install a ‘stand-by’ system so that both the lights and the ventilation system are ‘switched off’ when the lift is not in use.
- Incorporate a system for storing the energy generated by the lift’s own motor when it goes up empty or comes down loaded. This energy, which is stored in batteries, will be used by the lift on future journeys.
- Fitting a roof fall arrest kit, a solution that is already compulsory, for example, in the Community of Madrid.
- Install a load weighing system that will warn us when the weight limit of our lift is reached. This not only helps us to avoid breakdowns due to overstressing of the machine, but also ensures that we travel more safely.
- Make your lift accessible to everyone by installing an induction loop, a loudspeaker or Braille button panel, and make it go down to zero level!
Renewed look: the ION lift
The lift can be your building’s best (or worst) calling card. That’s why aesthetics are also important.
You can give your machine a completely new look by replacing any of its aesthetic elements (cabin decoration, panels, roof, handrails, floors, button panels, mirrors, etc.).
This facilitates the use of the machine, allows you to incorporate more modern materials in your lift, provide it with better and more efficient lighting or more luminosity (for example, by using lighter-coloured floors) and, in addition, has a positive impact on the value of all the homes in the building.
A safe bet is our ION, an intelligent lift that incorporates a large display-button panel in the lift with numerous advantages and functionalities, which we have already mentioned in another article.
